BACKGROUND INFORMATION

All great ideas begin with a commitment to the future. It is with this steadfast endeavour and in the quest for excellence that Reverend Sqdr. Ldr. A.S. Mann spearheaded the project of establishing the school with the eminent apex body of the Anand education society. Thus the dream child “Century Tagore Primary School” in Ashok Vihar was born in the year 1974. The holistic education provided by the school, soon earned a good name and the need for a bigger school which could accommodate more students was felt. 4 acres of land was allotted at Prashant Vihar and Lancer’s Convent affiliated to C.B.S.E. came into being in 1988 .Since then the school has been successfully churning out complete human beings nurtured in a caring environment. The school has been since affiliated with C.B.S.E board since 1989. Admission in school at the entry level takes place between 15 Jan to March 31st, and admission for classes I to XII take place by 31st August of every year as per guidelines of Directorate of Education. CULTURE AND ETHOS OF SCHOOL

The school believes in creating a caring , child-centred environment which motivates children to enhance learning and reduce behaviour problems . We also want to create a learning environment that fosters an atmosphere of community and collaboration, success and acceptance and joy and challenge. Spiritualism is a way of the life at Lancer’s Convent. The Guru-Shishya Parampara is enlivened in true form and spirit here .We believe that the flame of knowledge shines in every child, it just needs to be drawn out and with added oil of hardwork, the wick of individuality lights and brightens the world. The teachers are the students’ mentors’, helpers and guides; who do not merely teach the students but also provide conditions for the free and natural growth of children. Our objective is to promote child –centric and holistic education to all the scholars; keeping in mind the parameters of pedagogy, cognition and aesthetics. A child who enters our courtyard is introduced to the five elements and silent sitting, guided visualisation etc. brings out their softer skills like compassion, empathy, love and kindness. In fact, our unwavering efforts harness the three-dimensional personality of child.
